The French Football Federation requested the cancellation of the yellow card received by Michael Olise in the round of 16 World Cup match against Paraguay.

After qualifying from the round of 16 at the expense of Paraguay, the French national team is preparing to face Morocco in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, on Thursday, in Boston, United States.

FIFA refuses to cancel Olise's card

Olise received the yellow card in stoppage time of the Paraguay match, due to an argument with Matias Glarza, knowing that he did not actually touch his opponent, and therefore the French Federation requested FIFA to cancel the card.

Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, stated in a press conference on the eve of the World Cup quarter-final match against Morocco: "We received FIFA's decision this morning (Wednesday) to uphold the card".

According to the French radio "Radio Monte Carlo", Olise will face the risk of suspension on Thursday, and will miss the possible semi-final match if he receives another yellow card.

The Moroccan national team will be a heavy guest on its French counterpart, in the match expected to be held tomorrow evening, Thursday, July 9, which will be within the framework of the round of 8 matches of the World Cup.
