Feyenoord has decided to ban its fans from attending the team's next two away matches following the riots during the Dutch league match against Cambuur Leeuwarden, which was halted due to fireworks being set off, resulting in injuries to seven people.
According to Reuters, Feyenoord supporters will be prohibited from entering the away sections during the upcoming matches against Nijmegen and Zwolle scheduled for next month, due to the incidents that occurred during the Cambuur game.
On Wednesday, Feyenoord announced that the club's management made this decision following the fireworks incident in Leeuwarden, describing what happened as controversial and completely unacceptable.
The match was suspended for about 20 minutes during the first half after Feyenoord fans ignited numerous red flares and threw fireworks, causing burns, hearing problems, and eye injuries among several supporters of the home team.
Feyenoord also faces a substantial fine due to the incident, pending further sanctions that may be imposed by the relevant authorities in Dutch football.
