Brazilian Fred, the Atlético Mineiro midfielder, criticized Dutchman Erik ten Hag, the former manager of English club Manchester United.

The Brazilian star spent five years at Man United, from 2018 to 2023, while the Dutch coach led the Red Devils from summer 2022 to October 2024.

Fred opens fire on Ten Hag

Fred said in remarks reported by the British newspaper "Metro": "Ten Hag is very good tactically, but his management of the group was extremely poor."

He added: "He argued with everyone, with me, and with Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro, and Rashford. He didn't play me in matches, and the situation was sometimes tense."

He continued: "He only played Dutch players. He is a coach who tends to form cliques and favor them, but tactically, he was one of the best coaches I have ever worked with."

He further stated: "He wanted the team to run and press hard, but Cristiano had aged. He dropped Ronaldo from the starting lineup, which led to a dispute between them."
