Farewell match and support banners: New developments in Cristiano Ronaldo's dispute with Portugal

Press reports have revealed new developments regarding star Cristiano Ronaldo and his crisis with the Portuguese national team, which began during the current international break following tensions in his relationship with coach Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo left Portugal's training camp amid strained relations with coach Jorge Jesus, who excluded him from participating in the match against Norway, while the head coach confirmed his absence for the Denmark game.

According to the French newspaper "L'Équipe," the Portuguese Football Federation has begun behind-the-scenes moves to organize a farewell match for Cristiano Ronaldo with the Portuguese national team.

This comes with the aim of giving Ronaldo one last opportunity to wear the Portugal jersey and bid farewell to the fans in a manner befitting his status and history.

The Portuguese Federation, led by Pedro Proença, is trying to find an appropriate way to end Ronaldo's international career, commensurate with his historical standing, coinciding with attempts to bridge views between him and Jesus.

There has been no official announcement yet regarding the date of the match, the opponent, or Ronaldo's own approval of the idea.

Banners supporting Ronaldo appeared in Lisbon and Porto, bearing phrases such as: "Thank you, Cristiano Ronaldo, for everything you have given Portugal; you will always remain our captain."

They also included criticism of Jesus, among them that he was not up to the responsibility, mishandled Ronaldo, and one banner described the coach as arrogant, according to the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola."

After the dispute erupted, Ronaldo wrote on his official social media accounts: "I will reveal to the Portuguese people, at the appropriate time, the truth behind the reasons for my departure from the national team to which I have always been loyal. It is now time to wish Portugal and all my teammates success, without exception."
