The transfer deal for Sota Nakamura, the Japanese Sanfrecce Hiroshima player, to the Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb stumbled during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Nakamura's name was linked to a move to Dinamo Zagreb during the past few hours, as the Croatian club searched for an alternative to Mounsef Bakrader, the team player who is on the verge of joining Al Ahly.
French Le Havre announced this morning, Friday, signing the Japanese striker Nakamura as part of bolstering its ranks during the current summer, thereby cutting off Dinamo Zagreb in the race to sign the player.
An official statement from Le Havre read: "The Japanese international striker Sota Nakamura joins our team on loan.. The promising youngster represents a major gain for the club's sporting management."
The statement also clarified that the short-statured player is distinguished by his ability to play as a winger or striker, and he possesses high physical fitness and great speed, which matches Mounsef Bakrader's specifications.
The French Le Havre club noted at the end of its statement that Nakamura, aged 23, is proficient in both scoring goals and creating play.
The Croatian newspaper Jermanik commented on the deal, saying: "We wrote yesterday that Dinamo Zagreb wants to sign him, but the French were faster or presented stronger arguments, so Nakamura will not wear the Croatian team's jersey."
