Football Association officials responded to Al Ahly Club's recent letter regarding the statements of Jihad Grisha, the former referee and member of the Referees Committee, as well as the statements of Mahmoud Ashour, the VAR referee, concerning the Ceramica Cleopatra match in last season's league.

Al Ahly had addressed the Football Association, objecting to the reappointment of Essam Abdel Fattah as head of the Referees Committee, alongside the failure of Association President Hani Abu Rida to announce a sufficient stance on the proposal to increase the number of clubs, and praising only one club in the media regarding the settlement of dues, in addition to the statements of the duo Mahmoud Ashour and Jihad Grisha, which Al Ahly Club described as "catastrophic".

A source at the Football Association told Botulat in response to Al Ahly's letter: "The selection of the head of the Referees Committee and its members is an inherent right of the Football Association."

He added: "The Football Association chose personalities with extensive experience, namely Essam Abdel Fattah, Jamal Al-Ghandour, and Samir Othman, and the trio are highly competent."

He concluded: "Al Ahly or any other club has the right to object to the Association's decisions, but the Association makes decisions that serve the interest of Egyptian football."
