Nantes club is preparing to start its new season in the French second division league, and its Egyptian striker Mustafa Mohamed is still absent from the team.
Mustafa Mohamed continues his absence from Nantes training, and his new coach, Michel Der Zakarian, has no explanation for this absence.
Michel Der Zakarian, who returned to coach Nantes after the departure of Vahid Halilhodžić, did not hide his surprise at this absence, during his talk with the media.
Nantes coach said in statements reported by RMC Sport: "Mustafa... I have never seen anything like this before, today we see many illogical things in football".
He added: "He decided to do that (absence from training), and we will see what will happen upon his return".
Among the possible reasons for the absence of the Egyptian striker, reports indicate that reducing his salary as a result of Nantes' relegation to the second division may be something the player does not accept.
Nantes had been relegated to the French second division after finishing in the penultimate position in the Premier League standings last season.
