Essam Siraj, the Head of Contracts Sector at Al-Ahly Club, believes that the true architect of transfers is Adly El-Qiee, revealing the method of selecting transfers in collaboration with the scouting committee.
Siraj stated in television interviews on Al-Ahly Channel: "I managed the behind-the-scenes of Evouna's sale, which was sold for $8 million. At that time, there was a rise in the dollar and an increase in the exchange rate, bringing the deal to nearly $10 million, which is the highest amount ever received for selling a player in Egypt's history."
He continued: "We sold Ahmed Hegazi for €5 million, Ramadan Sobhi for €5 million, and Trezeguet for €2.3 million. These are the deals I worked on."
When asked about signing Ali Maaloul in 2016, he replied: "Maaloul is a very respectable player and a calm person. His name became associated with Al-Ahly fans. Although his contract included a release clause, we did not resort to using it when signing him. We respect all clubs, both domestically and internationally."
He added: "The first transfer I handled for Al-Ahly was Mohamed El-Shenawy from Petrojet. There was smooth cooperation from his club to finalize the deal. The goalkeeper had a contract from Portugal at the time, but he was eager to return to Al-Ahly."

He further stated: "There is currently a scouting committee at Al-Ahly including Ahmed Abu Muslim, Sherif Salem, and other names. I am responsible for contracts, but the scouting committee has separate duties aimed at searching for talents within and outside the league, though there is cooperation between us."
He continued: "New transfer selections are made through recommendations from the scouting committee, in addition to suggestions from the technical staff. Afterwards, we begin setting priorities because the recommendations include more than one player for each position."
