Essam Abdel Fattah, head of the Referees Committee at the Egyptian Football Association, affirmed the application of the principle of reward and punishment within the refereeing system, stressing that any referee who errs will be held accountable, while referees with distinguished performance levels will be commended.
Today, the Referees Committee concluded the activities of the second preparatory camp for international referees and Premier League referees, with the participation of 42 referees, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing technical and physical readiness, alongside developing aspects related to refereeing culture, in preparation for the launch of the new football season competitions.
Essam Abdel Fattah said in press statements that discipline will be one of the fundamental factors for work within the refereeing system, in parallel with elevating the technical, physical, and cultural level of the referees, while relying on clear standards in the evaluation process.
The camp featured a series of theoretical lectures and practical drills, alongside discussions of various refereeing incidents, efforts to unify the vision on decisions and interpretations related to the laws of football, and explanations of the latest amendments to the law.
New camps are scheduled to begin tomorrow for referees and assistants of the Professional League and Premier League B, as part of expanding the base of ready referees to officiate matches across different tiers of local competitions.
