Essam Abdel Fattah, head of the Referees Committee, expressed his dissatisfaction with the statements made by former referee Jead Gharisha regarding a refereeing incident in last season’s Al Ahly vs. Ceramica match, emphasizing the need for accuracy in analysis and refraining from making accusations against referees without evidence.
Essam Abdel Fattah, head of the Referees Committee, said in a statement via the “Classico” program: “I am upset with Jead Gharisha because he was not honest, and we must be honest in our words.”
He continued: “Jead Gharisha lied when he claimed to be the only one who confirmed that the penalty kick was incorrect during last season’s Al Ahly vs. Ceramica match.”

He added: “Accurate information must be provided, and the public must not be misled when analyzing refereeing decisions. I fear God, and it is inappropriate to make such statements, especially when accusations are directed at me and a large number of referees.”
He concluded: “No referee wants to make mistakes in any match; all referees strive to deliver their best possible performance and make the correct decisions on the field. It is essential to avoid unfounded accusations and to respect the components of the refereeing system.”
