Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique broke his silence and addressed rumors suggesting a disagreement between him and Ousmane Dembélé, similar to what occurred during the French capital club's Ligue 1 match against Stade Rennais this week.

Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 with Rennes in a match that saw Ousmane Dembélé substituted at halftime.

After the match, Enrique criticized both Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, emphasizing that every player must give their all for Paris Saint-Germain and that there is no room for complacency or relaxation.

Uncertainty surrounding Dembélé's situation continued after Paris Saint-Germain issued an official statement confirming that the former Barcelona player would be absent from the team for a few days to rest (details here).

Enrique denied any disagreement between himself and Dembélé, clarifying that the latter is a true leader and his absence is solely due to rest, nothing else.

During the press conference ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's upcoming Ligue 1 match against Lille this Saturday, Enrique stated: "Ousmane? He is a true leader on the field; it's important to emphasize that. For players who joined the team and have had less rest due to their participation in the World Cup, I am always ready to grant them additional rest days."

He added: "It is crucial for players to get rest periods, and the same applies to Dembélé. He has worked hard to return, and it is important he gets time to rest after playing two finals with us."

Dembélé is considered one of Paris Saint-Germain's most important players in recent years and was instrumental in helping the French club win consecutive UEFA Champions League titles this year and last year.
