The British network "TEAMtalk" revealed Celtic's Scottish club's move to sign the Egyptian Imam Ashour, Al-Ahly midfielder, during the upcoming transfer period.
The network explained that Celtic wants to conclude the deal quickly, after being informed of the need to pay 4 million pounds sterling to obtain the player's services, amid strong competition from other clubs.
It pointed out that West Ham United and Brighton of England are among the clubs that have followed the 28-year-old player, in addition to Derby County, while Saudi club Neom has entered the circle of those interested in signing him with a willingness to submit a large financial offer.
The report added that Imam Ashour would be open to moving to Celtic, especially with the team's expected participation in the Champions League next season, but the Scottish club will face competition from English Premier League and Middle Eastern clubs.
The network noted that Ashour played an important role with the Egyptian national team during the 2026 World Cup campaign, after starting in all matches and scoring two goals against Belgium and Australia, before exiting against Argentina in the round of 16.
Celtic considers the player a potential addition to strengthen its midfield, especially with his ability to play in more than one position, as he played with Al-Ahly in the attacking or central midfield, while appearing with the Egyptian national team as a winger, and he has previously played as a right-back.
The report confirmed that Al-Ahly is waiting for the best possible offer to let the player go, while Celtic needs to move decisively if it wants to outpace the competitors and conclude the deal for Imam Ashour in the coming period.
