Brazilian Endrick received a strong blow in his journey with Real Madrid, after his chances of participating with the team during the next season became complicated following the club's signing of a new striker at the request of coach Jose Mourinho.
Endrick had believed that Gonzalo Garcia's imminent departure to Fulham would open the door for him to get a bigger role as a substitute for Kylian Mbappe, but Mourinho had a different vision, after requesting a striker with strong physical attributes, enabling Real Madrid to sign Carlos Espi from Levante for 25 million euros.
Espi arrived in the Spanish capital quickly, where he was called up to the squad for the friendly match against Fiorentina, becoming a new competitor in the attack and giving Mourinho a different tactical option thanks to his height of 1.94 meters.
In contrast, Endrick had cut short his vacation and returned early to training to prove himself in front of the new coach, but he now faces tough competition given that he has not received enough minutes since arriving at Real Madrid, where he has participated in only 11% of the available minutes during his first 18 months with the team.
According to Spanish press reports, Endrick's chances of staying with Real Madrid this season have become doubtful, despite the player's desire to remain and prove his abilities after a previous loan spell with Lyon.
The Brazilian player is considering the option of leaving on loan to get a greater opportunity to play, especially as he realizes the difficulty of securing a starting spot in Mourinho's lineup.
Nevertheless, according to the reports, Real Madrid still believes in Endrick's abilities, as the club is not considering selling him permanently, and the player is under contract with the team until 2030.
But with the return of all international players in September, the player fears returning to the bench again, something he seeks to avoid in the coming period.
