Spanish Unai Emery, coach of English Aston Villa, confirmed that participating in the European Super Cup is an opportunity to win a new title, pointing out that Paris Saint-Germain is considered the best team in the world.
Paris Saint-Germain will meet its counterpart Aston Villa, on Wednesday evening, in the final of the European Super Cup.
Unai Emery's statements
Emery said in an interview with the official website of the European Football Union "UEFA": "The European Super Cup is very important, we are trying to achieve success by building a team capable of winning in the first place, then seeking the positive results resulting from that, which is winning titles".
He added: "Participating in the European Super Cup represents another opportunity to be on this stage and an opportunity to win a title, and to face Paris Saint-Germain, the best team in the world currently, and it is also another opportunity for us to compare ourselves with one of the best teams".
He continued: "Luis Enrique's teams always play well, the relationship that brings me together with him, which was built through competing against each other, makes me feel proud of the work I am doing and the way we are developing, and at the same time I see that facing the best coaches in the world represents a great challenge".
Aston Villa coach concluded his statements: "At Aston Villa, we will also try to be a competitive team and a respected team, closer to winning than losing, and to return to competition and become able to face the best teams in order to win titles".
