Emad El-Nahas, the former head coach of Al-Masry Port Said's first football team, revealed the behind-the-scenes details of his departure from coaching the team, affirming that the club's management decided to dismiss him and that he did not submit his resignation from the position.
El-Nahas stated in remarks to MBC Masr 2: "I have many questions regarding the reason for my departure. The club is the one that dismissed me; I did not resign. I was informed at 1:00 AM that Kamal Abu Ali, the club's chairman, wished for me not to continue with the team."
The former Al-Masry head coach clarified that he received assurances from the management about their intention to sign a new head coach, saying: "They told me there might be a Spanish or Moroccan head coach, and they informed me that the team's performance was not optimal, alongside the loss in the Pyramids match."
El-Nahas added that Al-Masry's management requested to terminate the relationship in a manner befitting both him and the club, explaining: "They asked that the matter be handled in a way that honors my name and the name of Al-Masry Port Said Club. My response was that I agree to whichever method they deem appropriate."
Emad El-Nahas noted that he was surprised by the scale of the attack he faced following his departure from Al-Masry, stating: "I was shocked by all the calls; there was an abnormal attack against me. Were these scripts distributed to people to attack me, or what?"
El-Nahas questioned the real reasons behind the decision for his departure, especially given the results achieved by the team at the start of the season, saying: "When you tell people that the coach won a trophy for the club, etched his name in the team's history, and won two out of three matches in the first three rounds of the league, then what is the real reason for my departure?"
Emad El-Nahas concluded his remarks by emphasizing that there are many question marks surrounding the decision for his departure from Al-Masry, especially since it came early in the season despite the results achieved by the team during the initial rounds.
