Al Ahly renewed El Shahat's contract for two seasons, after his current contract ended at the end of the previous season.
Hussein El Shahat, Al Ahly player, said via the club's Facebook account: "Very happy to renew with Al Ahly and continue for two additional seasons, and that I will be among Al Ahly's fans and my teammates in the team".
He added, "What was said about the negotiations did not happen, Al Ahly is my home and the Ninja continues, and my relationship with the club is greater than anything".
He continued, "I want to achieve all titles in the next two seasons, and we will achieve the impossible for Al Ahly's fans".
He continued, "The next season will be very difficult after what happened last season, and we are capable of achieving all titles".
He concluded, "Happy to wear Al Ahly's captain's armband and what an honor, and I want to live up to the responsibility".

The 33-year-old had joined Al Ahly in 2019 coming from Al Ain of the Emirates.
El Shahat participated during the previous season in 29 matches and scored 6 goals and assisted 4 others.
El Shahat won 19 titles wearing Al Ahly's jersey since joining the team.
