Commented Akramy El-Shahat, former Al-Ahly goalkeeper, on the team's current performance under Moroccan coach Hussein Amotta.
Al-Ahly had won the first three rounds of the Egyptian Premier League against Sharqiya Enppi, ZED, and Smouha, and currently occupies second place in the league standings behind leaders Pyramids FC with 9 points.
However, despite Al-Ahly's strong start in the league, fans have expressed dissatisfaction due to the team's performance in the matches played so far.
El-Shahat stated during an interview on the program "Al-Laa'eb" broadcast on MBC Masr channel: "There is nothing new about Al-Ahly's performance under Hussein Amotta."

He added: "There are mistakes in the lineup and players' positions on the field. I believe Ahmed Sayed Zizo would perform better if played as a right winger, just as he excelled with Zamalek."
He continued: "But Hussein Amotta sees him in the number 10 position; I think he sees something we don't. The coach is insistent on his playing style."
He further stated: "He must change the playing style to maximize the benefit from the players available in the squad."
He went on to say: "Currently, Al-Ahly is winning only without delivering a good performance, but the team should have a roster of players capable of playing well, entertaining the fans, and achieving victory."
He concluded: "Nevertheless, I ultimately believe that matters within the team will improve in the coming period."
