The International Handball Federation announced the ideal team for the World Junior Women's Handball Championship held in Romania 2026.
The ideal team included two players from the Egyptian junior women's handball team: Zeina Qutb and Malak Amr.
Zeina Qutb of the Egyptian handball team was named the best circle player in the tournament.
Malak Amr of the Egyptian junior handball team was also selected as the best right back in the tournament.
The ideal team for the tournament consisted of 7 players from 6 countries: Egypt, Spain the world champion, Denmark, Montenegro, in addition to China and Switzerland.
The ideal team for the World Junior Women's Handball Championship was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Tilde Ladegard Skov from Denmark
Right wing: Erika Elena Vlado from Spain
Right back: Malak Amr from Egypt
Playmaker: Andrea Dragnic from Montenegro
Left back: Shuyan Zhang from China
Left wing: Lauren Merzwa from Switzerland
Circle player: Zeina Qutb, best player in the circle position.
Spanish player Eleni Fresco Pastarika, who plays as a playmaker, also won the award for best player of the tournament.
Lauren Merzwa of Switzerland, who plays left wing, won the top scorer award of the tournament with 71 goals.
Spain World Champion
Spain was crowned world champion in the junior women's handball for the second consecutive time after defeating Montenegro in the tournament final 26-23.
This title is the second consecutive one for the Spanish national team in the history of its participations in the World Junior Women's Handball Championship.
The Egyptian junior women's handball team finished its campaign in the World Championship under 18 in fourth place after losing to Denmark 19-23.
