Egyptian coaches have proven their strong presence with the two poles (Al-Ahly and Zamalek) in the past years despite not getting the full opportunity.
It is known that Al-Ahly and Zamalek do not prefer to rely on Egyptian coaches except within the narrowest limits.
The Egyptian coach is always viewed as a temporary stage that usually comes as a temporary solution in exceptional circumstances, until contracting with a foreign technical director.
Despite that, a number of Egyptian coaches succeeded in leaving a clear mark in the records of Al-Ahly and Zamalek, after achieving championships with the two teams.
And if we look at the last 10 years (from 2016 until 2026), we will find Egyptian coaches who led Al-Ahly and Zamalek to the winning podiums, whether in the league, Egypt Cup, or Super Cup.
It suffices to say that the last two league titles won by Al-Ahly and Zamalek came under the leadership of Egyptian coaches, namely Imad Al-Nahhas with the Red Giant in 2025, and Mo'tamad Jamal with the White Knight in 2026.
