The Egyptian youth national team defeated their Tunisian counterparts 2-1 in a match held at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, as part of the North African qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations for Youth.

Egypt's U-20 team scored their first goal in the 16th minute from the penalty spot, courtesy of player Mohamed El-Shamy, after the referee awarded a penalty to the Pharaohs following a foul on player Mohamed Hamad.

In the 32nd minute, Mohamed Hamad returned to score himself this time, announcing the addition of Egypt's second goal in the U-20 team's tally.

The Tunisian team reduced the deficit in the 66th minute with a goal that was insufficient to equalize the score.

With this result, the Egyptian team tops the qualifiers' standings with 6 points, followed by Morocco and Algeria with 4 points each. Tunisia is in fourth place with 2 points, while Libya trails at the bottom without any points.

The North African qualifiers are being held in Egypt, featuring teams from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Libya, where only the leader and the runner-up qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations for Youth.

Egypt's U-20 team had previously defeated their Libyan counterparts by two goals to nil in the first round, then received a bye in the second round.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian team drew 1-1 against Algeria and 0-0 against Morocco.
