A source at Zamalek Club confirmed that the rejection of the appeal in the Swedish club AIK case has nothing to do with the file of the White Castle obtaining the African license.
The International Sports Court "CAS" issued its decision rejecting Zamalek Club's appeal in the AIK Sweden case in the crisis of the dues of the deal for the former Palestinian striker Omar Faraj.
The source said, in statements to "Yalla Koura", that the ruling in the Swedish club case was issued after March 31 last, and therefore does not fall within the cases that affect the African license file.
He added that Zamalek's management will work in the coming period to settle the Swedish club's dues before applying the registration ban penalty.
The source explained that the club's focus at the present time is on finalizing the African license file, in parallel with settling the remaining cases related to the registration ban penalty, to ensure all files are completed in the coming period.
Omar Faraj had transferred to Zamalek from AIK Sweden in a deal worth 1.1 million dollars, in the summer of 2024, before being loaned in January 2025 to Degerfors until the end of the season.
Faraj returned to Zamalek in the summer of 2025 after the end of the loan without getting an opportunity to participate, and exploited not receiving his dues to unilaterally terminate his contract in February 2026.
