Laurent Djama, the technical director of AS Port Djibouti, commented on the loss against Zamalek in the CAF Champions League.

AS Port lost 2-1 to Zamalek in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Djama stated in an interview via Modern TV: "We started the match with difficulty against Zamalek; coordination between the lines was lacking at the beginning. In the second half, we corrected our mistakes, organized the team, and got into the rhythm of the game."

He added: "I prepared the team in a short period. We were supposed to have a proper preparation phase for the CAF Champions League, but that did not happen. We faced Zamalek, a major team in the Champions League."

He continued: "Of course, we tried the new preparation to reduce players' mistakes. We made errors in the first leg, and we hope to rectify this in the second match."

He concluded: "As a start, losing 2-1 to Zamalek is acceptable. We know Zamalek's strength, and facing such a big club in our first match is a significant step for us. I believe we were simply unlucky to face a team like Zamalek."

It is worth noting that Zamalek hosted the Djiboutian champions for both the first and second legs at Cairo Stadium.
