Malian Aliou Dieng described his transfer to Spanish Valencia as a childhood dream come true.
Valencia announced the signing of Dieng for two seasons in a free transfer deal coming from Al Ahly.
Aliou Dieng said via Valencia's official website: "I joined Valencia with great ambition. My goal is to follow the coach's instructions and work step by step to restore the club to the status it deserves".
He added, "Playing in Europe was my childhood dream. I had previous opportunities that did not materialize, but today the dream has come true, and I hope this will be a successful stage with Valencia".
He continued, "The coach expects a lot from me, but the decision on starting participation is up to him. My focus now is on working and adapting in the best possible way".
He went on, "My agent handled all the details of the negotiations, and when I learned of Valencia's interest, I felt great happiness and am extremely proud to be here".
He concluded, "I am a player who follows the coach's instructions and my teammates, and I give everything I have on the pitch. My position is determined according to the coach's vision, and I will do my utmost wherever I play".
He stressed, "Sadio Keita and Mohamed Sissoko are among my biggest role models, and I hope to follow in their footsteps, live up to expectations, and achieve even greater successes".
He ended his statements, "I have physical strength because I have been practicing sports since childhood, and I train daily, and the genetic factor has also helped me".
Dieng had joined Al Ahly from Mouloudia Algiers in the summer of 2019, continuing his career within the walls of the Red Castle for 7 years.
Dieng's career with Al Ahly included a one-season departure to Saudi Al-Khulood during the period from 2024 to 2025 on loan.
During six seasons wearing Al Ahly's jersey, Dieng played 250 matches in various competitions and won 16 titles.
The Malian midfielder succeeded in contributing 19 goals after scoring eight goals and assisting 11 others.
