Manchester City has entered the race to sign Dutch player Cody Gakpo from Liverpool, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Club: Liverpool
Di Marzio indicated that Manchester City has initiated contacts with Liverpool's management to explore the possibility of completing the deal during the current transfer window.
According to Di Marzio, Manchester City has begun moving to secure Gakpo, attempting to outpace other clubs interested in the player, most notably Tottenham.
Gakpo is considered one of the key elements in Liverpool's squad, especially after his strong start with the team this season. He contributed to Liverpool's comeback against Newcastle in the opening round of the Premier League by scoring a goal.
Manchester City's moves come as part of its efforts to strengthen its attacking line, particularly following the impending departures of Omar Marmoush and Savinho to Tottenham.
Gakpo joined Liverpool in 2023 from the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
Since joining the team, Gakpo has participated in 181 matches wearing the Liverpool jersey, managing to score 51 goals and provide 23 assists.
