Major General Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb, former star of Tersana Club and the Egyptian national team and former president of the Football Association, passed away today, Friday, at the age of 85.
His son Mohamed El-Dahshoury announced the death via his Facebook account, writing: "My father, my beloved, and my support, Major General Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb, is in the mercy of God".
He added: "The funeral prayer after Friday prayer at Al-Mushir Mosque".
The Egyptian Football Association published an official statement mourning the deceased, who had assumed the presidency of the association in a previous period: "Engineer Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, mourns with great sadness and sorrow Major General Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb, the former President of the Egyptian Football Association, who passed away today after a full career and a journey of giving to Egyptian sports".
