De Zerbi's statements
Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham team coach, began his statements via the club's official website, saying: "Micky is one of the best defenders in Europe and an important player for us".
He added: "He possesses the qualities, mentality and ambition that we are looking for at Tottenham Hotspur, and I am very happy with his decision to continue his career with the club".
He concluded: "We are building something strong here, and players like Micky are an integral part of this future, his decision to sign a new contract shows his belief in what we are building together".
Tottenham's sporting director's statements
Johan Lange, the sporting director of Tottenham club, expressed his happiness at extending Micky van de Ven's contract, saying: "I am very happy that Micky renewed his contract with the club".
He continued: "His growth and development over the past three years as a player and as a person has been enormous, and he is now undoubtedly one of the most prominent defenders in European football".
