The Italian Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's technical director, revealed the date of Egyptian star Omar Marmoush joining the team's training during the preparatory tour in Asia, in preparation for the new 2026-2027 season.
Maresca explained in the press conference preceding the match against Inter that Marmoush will arrive at the team's camp in Hong Kong tomorrow morning, accompanied by Ruben Dias and Matheus Nunes, after receiving rest following their participation in the 2026 World Cup.
The Italian coach said in statements via Manchester City's official website: "Tomorrow three other senior players will arrive, then the rest will arrive gradually. I am happy to work with the players we have here."
He added: "Ruben, Matheus and Omar will arrive tomorrow late in the morning, so there is no chance for them to be in the match because they have not trained with the team yet."
Maresca confirmed that the technical staff preferred to give the players who participated in the World Cup a sufficient rest period before returning, stressing the importance of that to avoid fatigue and injuries with the approach of a season crowded with competitions.
He concluded his statements by saying: "The more matches you play, the greater the possibility of injuries. We have to adapt and try to limit them, but we know that they are part of football."
