Al Ahly has approached signing the Algerian Monsef Bekrar, Dinamo Zagreb striker, during the current transfer window.

Club: Dinamo Zagreb

The Croatian website direktno revealed that negotiations between the two clubs have witnessed significant progress in recent days.

The report indicated that this came after Al Ahly submitted two official offers that were rejected, before talks continued and the two sides neared a final agreement.

Dinamo Zagreb is expected to receive around 3 million euros as a fixed fee for the deal, in addition to performance-related incentives and a percentage of any future resale.

No departure date for Bekrar has been determined yet, amid Dinamo's desire for him to remain for the match against Thun in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, before completing his transfer to Al Ahly.

If the deal is completed before the match, Dinamo Zagreb could face an attacking crisis, especially with Mateo Lisica's injury and the new signing Dani Rodríguez not being ready.

Bekrar had joined Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of last year from New York City, signing a contract that runs until 2028.

The Algerian striker featured in 42 matches last season, scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists.

According to what FilGoal.com learned, Al Ahly has raised its offer to sign Monsef Bekrar from Dinamo Zagreb to 2 million and 800 thousand dollars.

Al Ahly is seeking to bolster its attack in preparation for the season under Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, having already signed Oktay Abdallah and Ali Mahmoud from Enppi.

Monsef Bekrar began his career with USM Sétif before moving to Croatian club Istra in the summer of 2022.

Bekrar then transferred to New York City in the summer of 2023, before returning to the Croatian league via Dinamo Zagreb last summer.

The 25-year-old played 42 matches for Dinamo Zagreb, scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists in all competitions.

Internationally, he has represented the Algeria national team in 7 matches and scored 2 goals.
