Zamalek drew 0-0 with Al Ittihad Al Sakandary in the match held at Cairo International Stadium during the opening round of the Premier League for the "2026-2027" season.
It was not an ideal start for the White Knights, the defending champions, who dropped two points in their league opener.

The match between Zamalek and Al Ittihad Al Sakandary witnessed an injury to White Knights defender Mohamed Ismail in the head, but he insisted on continuing the match.
Zamalek's medical staff applied a compressive bandage to Ismail's head to help him continue the match.
Mahmoud Hamdi "El-Wensh" saved his Zamalek team from a certain goal in the 75th minute, intervening at the last moment to clear the ball before it crossed the goal line.
