The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has announced the date for a hearing on the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation against its Moroccan counterpart and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Senegal had won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after defeating the host nation in the final.

Before CAF decided to award the title to Morocco, strip it from Senegal, and impose severe sanctions on both national teams.

Following CAF's announcement stripping the title from Senegal, the Senegalese Federation filed a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which will determine the fate of the title.

CAS stated via its official website that the hearing session will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 8th.

The court clarified: "Following the session, which is expected to conclude in the afternoon, the arbitration panel will begin its deliberations. The court cannot specify the date for the issuance of the final decision, and it will not be issued on the same day as the session."

CAS added: "The session will be held in person at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The date was set after consultation with the relevant parties who did not request a public hearing, and it will be conducted without the presence of media."

It also noted that the parties agreed to conduct the session in French.

Two representatives from the Senegalese Federation and the Moroccan Federation will attend the session personally, along with the lawyer for the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The arbitration panel will consist of: Professor Pierre Tercier (President), Professor Ulrich Haas, and Professor Diego P. Fernández Arroyo.
