Media personality Ahmed Shobair revealed the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the relationship between Egyptian Football Association officials, headed by Hany Abo Rida, and the Egypt national team staff led by Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan.
The Egypt national team defeated South Sudan 5-0 in a match played during the second round of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Shobair said on his radio program: "I hope that tensions are eased between the EFA officials and the Egypt national team staff during this period."
He continued: "A quick meeting should be held between the EFA officials and Engineer Hany Abo Rida, who is skilled in handling such matters, and Hossam Hassan and his assistant staff, because there is 'a lump in the throat' after the draw with Angola."
He added: "The Egypt national team technical staff felt ignored by the EFA officials after the draw with Angola, which caused them surprise and anger, especially since the relationship between both sides remains cold until now."
The Egypt national team is preparing to face South Africa next Sunday, October 4, at Cairo International Stadium, at 9:00 PM Egypt and Saudi Arabia time.
