Charles Akonnor, coach of Kenya's Gor Mahia, revealed his team's strategy to face Pyramids, led by Rolani Mokoena, in the CAF Champions League.

Kenyan club Gor Mahia will face Pyramids at 3:00 PM next Sunday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, for the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Akonnor expressed confidence in his team's preparations to face Pyramids, affirming his players' readiness for the upcoming match, noting that Gor Mahia's focus is on its own plan and ability to meet the challenge.

Charles Akonnor said in statements quoted by the Kenyan newspaper Pulse Sport: "Preparations are proceeding perfectly... We know we are facing a very strong team, but we are also a good team, and we have prepared well for this match."

The Ghanaian coach indicated that the team is working hard on all aspects of its game to ensure a strong performance against one of the continent's giants, as he described them, confirming that his team is paying special attention to tactical organization, physical fitness, and mental preparation before this match.

He added: "We are working on our tactics and physical fitness, in addition to the mental aspect, because these matches require full preparation... We are aware of what is expected from us on Sunday."

The coach believes that Gor Mahia must be ready for the intensity of the competition, as every aspect of their preparation could play a role in determining the outcome.

He continued: "This match represents more than just another continental encounter; I see it as an opportunity for the players to demonstrate their quality against one of Africa's strongest teams."

He added: "It is another chance to showcase what we have... We will face a very strong team, and we are preparing adequately. The players are performing well, and I believe we are capable of achieving victory."

He continued: "Facing Pyramids Club will contribute to developing its players and gaining valuable experience at the highest levels of African club football, as it is a team with extensive experience in African tournaments and boasts a squad filled with distinguished players."

He clarified that this important match will provide a valuable platform for his players to attract the attention of the Kenya national team's technical staff, saying: "This match will give our players an opportunity to compete for their places in the national team."

Charles Akonnor concluded his remarks by saying: "We must be disciplined, stay cohesive, and fight for every ball... If we execute what we have trained on and play with confidence, we will achieve a positive result."
