Chelsea English club announced the signing of French defender Maxence Lacroix coming from Crystal Palace club, during the current summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old defender agreed to a contract with Chelsea until 2032, and will join his new teammates in the Blues team before the start of the 2026/27 season.
Lacroix joins Chelsea carrying with him a reputation as one of the most prominent defenders in Europe, as well as being one of the fastest and best defenders in aerial balls in the English Premier League.
Lacroix participated in 98 matches with Crystal Palace during two seasons at Selhurst Park Stadium, and made history with the Eagles by winning the UEFA Conference League, the English FA Cup, and the Charity Shield.
Lacroix said after joining Chelsea: "I am very happy to join this prestigious club, everyone knows Chelsea's legend and its history full of victories, and to be part of this legacy is an honor for me".
He added: "When I spoke with the coach, I sensed that we share the same vision and ambition for this club".
The French defender concluded: "We want to win, when you see the quality of the players here and everything we have in the club, you will realize that we are capable of achieving that, our ambition is to lift trophies, and I am excited to contribute to this achievement".
