The Moroccan newspaper "Al-Muntakhab" explained that the African Football Confederation rejected making any change or modification to the system of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup and rejected the Egyptian proposal.
The newspaper said that the rejection of the proposal is a painful blow to Al-Ahly, which was dreaming of participating in the Champions League and would be a competitor in the Confederation Cup.
The Egyptian Federation had approved the participation of Zamalek and Pyramids in the African Champions League and Al-Ahly and Zed in the African Confederation Cup.
