English club Brentford announced the termination of team player Jordan Henderson's contract by mutual consent.
The English club confirmed in an official statement this Wednesday evening that Jordan Henderson will leave Brentford after a friendly agreement to end his contract.
The midfielder participated in 34 matches with the team in the 2025/26 season, before making history for England in the 2026 World Cup to become the first English player to participate in seven major tournaments.
The 36-year-old player is on the verge of completing his transfer to Chelsea, after the two parties reached a full agreement on the deal, pending the official announcement in the coming period.
Henderson said: "I leave Brentford while I am very grateful for the opportunity the club gave me, and for the support and care it provided to me and my family from the first day."
He concluded: "Returning to the Premier League was very important to me, and Brentford gave me that opportunity. I will always remain grateful for that."
