Turkish press reports revealed that Beşiktaş may reunite the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah with his former Liverpool teammate during the current summer transfer window.
Mohamed Salah is close to finalizing his transfer deal to the Turkish Beşiktaş, after the club's fans chanted demanding his signing at the presentation ceremony of the Belgian Leandro Trossard as a new player.
Turkish journalist "Levent Ümit Erol", who is known for covering news of top clubs like Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, stated that Van Dijk may follow in Mohamed Salah's footsteps in the Turkish league.

It is expected that Virgil van Dijk's agent will travel to Istanbul to meet with Beşiktaş officials who want to sign the Dutch captain who enters the last year of his contract with Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah had joined Liverpool during the 2017 summer transfer window, while Van Dijk joined in the 2018 winter transfers.
The duo achieved 9 titles with Liverpool's jersey, most notably the English Premier League twice in 2020 and 2025 and the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
