Al Ahly club announced the signing of the Moroccan Sofiane Benjdida, Maghreb Fes player, for a period of 3 seasons.
Pablo said via FilGoal.com: "Sofiane is a great scorer, and scoring 20 goals in the Moroccan league was only achieved by a very small number of players throughout history. He was a decisive element in our crowning with the league title after an absence lasting 41 years. In addition to that, he is a wonderful young man and works with great seriousness; he deserves this opportunity".
He continued: "He possesses a very strong personality, as well as great mental toughness. He was excluded from the final World Cup squad despite being on the initial list, and he deserved to participate given his level".
He added: "And after that disappointment, he presented his best football with us and scored decisive goals that helped us win the Moroccan league title".
He continued: "Sofiane is a straightforward striker distinguished by a great ability to finish attacks, which is why I tried to make the team create as many dangerous chances as possible so he could exploit them and score. I also sought to benefit from his ability to link the lines and give continuity to our collective playing style to control the opponents".
Regarding his move to Al Ahly, he said: "He will respond on the pitch, and I hope everyone will soon be convinced that he is a wonderful deal on the pitch and with his level".
Sofiane Benjdida played 31 matches with Maghreb Fes, scoring 20 goals and providing 2 assists.
The player had a professional journey in his career with the youth stages at Standard Liège and with the first team of the Belgian club, and he participated with Raja Casablanca in the youth and under-19 teams and the first team, then moved to RWDM and from there to Maghreb Fes.
