Zamalek's technical director, Moataz Gamal, believes that luck was on the team's side regarding substitutions, which contributed to securing points in the match against Al Ahly Bank.
Zamalek defeated Al Ahly Bank by three goals to nil in the match held at Cairo Stadium.
Zamalek raised its tally to 4 points, temporarily occupying second place following a draw and a win.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly Bank remains without points after two rounds, sitting at the bottom of the league standings.
Moataz Gamal stated during the press conference: "We started the previous match well but missed many opportunities. In today's match, the first-half performance was not up to the required level."
He added, "We made some adjustments in the second half, appeared better, and delivered a good 45 minutes. We hope future matches will see improved performance across both halves."
He further noted, "Luck favored us with the substitutions made during the match. I replaced Ahmed Fathou at halftime due to his yellow card in the first half, alongside substituting some players because of fatigue."
Moataz Gamal emphasized, "Matches help players regain their form. We work on correcting mistakes and negatives that appear during games; this is very normal. Luck was on Zamalek's side in today's encounter."
He clarified, "It is quite possible that some players may underperform after a long break. I trust my team's players and bet on their ability to achieve the league title."
Concluding his remarks, Moataz Gamal said, "Chico Banza is gradually participating in matches and will receive more playing time in upcoming games, especially since he is one of the team's key elements."
The substitutes' bench decided Zamalek's confrontation against Al Ahly Bank during the second round of the league competition.
The substitutes scored Zamalek's goals: Chico Banza, Hossam Ashraf, and Ahmed Abdel Rahim "Eisho" in the second half of the match.
Zamalek will play its next match against Suez Petrojet on Monday as part of the third round competitions.
As for Al Ahly Bank, it continues searching for its first point when facing Assiut Petroleum on Monday.
