A source revealed the behind-the-scenes details of canceling the friendly match that was to be held between Zamalek and Qatar's Al-Sadd in the coming period, confirming that the White's financial demands were a primary reason for canceling the match.
The source confirmed in exclusive statements to "Yalla Koura" the continuation of negotiations between the two parties over the past days through a marketing company, in order to hold the friendly match, as the organizing company for the match was the one that would bear the costs of travel and accommodation for the Zamalek delegation.
The source added: "Zamalek was scheduled to receive a portion of the financial revenue resulting from broadcasting rights and advertisements."
The source concluded his statements by confirming that Zamalek requested an additional financial compensation beyond the broadcasting and advertising revenues in exchange for participating in the match, which resulted in the negotiations failing, thus the idea of holding the match against Al-Sadd faltered.
In another context, Zamalek will hold its first training session today at six in the evening in preparation for the new season after entering a closed camp in the New Administrative Capital.
Hussein Labib, president of Zamalek Club, will hold a session with the players in the presence of a number of board members after the training session.
This comes after the decision to continue with Moataz Jamal as the technical director of the team, after winning the Premier League title in the past season.
