Ahmed Shoubir revealed the behind-the-scenes details of Mostafa Shoubir’s signing of his new contract with the Red Fortress, as the goalkeeper for Al Ahly’s first football team.

Shoubir said, in a radio interview on “On Sport”: “Yesterday, Mostafa Shoubir entered the club and told them, ‘Come on, I want to sign.’ That is exactly what happened.”

He added: “Even Dr. Essam Sarag was present in the finance department in the last building. He was told to finalize some matters, and he was instructed to sign after training and to inform Sidy El-Hefnawi and Wael Gomaa about the signing without a release clause.”

He clarified: “Hard luck to anyone who spoke about a release clause issue in the negotiations to extend Mostafa Shoubir’s contract (there was no release clause). It was merely a suggestion from someone inside the club to resolve a specific issue.”

He continued: “It was suggested to include a release clause for 40 days or two months, but Al Ahly refused, and the matter was settled. The same person who suggested this was the one who ultimately rejected it.”

He went on: “Mostafa has the right to think and dream of playing in a European championship and a European league, but from the moment Al Ahly made its offer to Mostafa Shoubir until the signing, it was only a few days. This is because Al Ahly made its offer in a session before the Spain camp, and after returning, there was another session, and yesterday was the third session, which witnessed the signing.”
