The Supreme Council for Media Regulation, headed by Khaled Abdel Aziz, directed a message to Al Ahly and Zamalek channels days before the launch of the new football season.
The Egyptian Premier League is scheduled to kick off in its new 2026/2027 edition on August 21.

The Supreme Council for Media Regulation confirmed in an official statement that within the framework of the monitoring work carried out by the General Administration of Monitoring at the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, and the follow-up of the Committee for Regulating the Performance of Sports Media headed by Counselor Abdel Salam Al-Naggar, Vice President of the State Council and member of the Council, which observed a noticeable development in the media performance of Al Ahly and Zamalek channels, in addition to "Zamalek Radio".
The statement added: "The monitoring results showed better commitment to professional standards and controls, and implementation of what was agreed upon during the committee's meeting with the officials of the two channels and the radio on Tuesday, July 21, in addition to the presenters' keenness to provide more balanced and objective content, and to avoid any approach that could contribute to inciting fanaticism or tension among fans, thereby enhancing the climate of sports competition within a framework of respect and responsibility."
The statement continued: "The committee commends this improvement, stressing that adherence to the codes and professional standards regulating sports coverage represents a positive step toward supporting responsible sports media and consolidating the values of fair competition and respect for all elements of the sports system, expressing hope that this approach will continue in the coming period, contributing to a more professional and balanced sports media environment."
The committee added that there is ongoing communication with the officials of these media platforms to discuss observations on an ongoing basis, supporting adherence to professional controls and enhancing responsible media performance.
