Media reports revealed today the latest developments regarding the future of Joao Cancelo, Al-Hilal club defender, and the possibility of his permanent transfer to Barcelona club ranks during the current summer transfer window.
Cancelo spent the second half of last season on loan with Barcelona club, and the Portuguese international delivered really good performances with the Blaugrana, helping the Spanish club win the Spanish League title.
"Mundo Deportivo" newspaper reported, citing Saudi media outlets, that Cancelo decided to enter into a war with Al-Hilal, as the player has not yet arrived at the team's camp in Austria in preparation for the new season, amid his desire to transfer to Barcelona.

It added that Cancelo was supposed to be at Al-Hilal's camp yesterday, Wednesday, July 29, unlike his compatriot Ruben Neves, who arrived in Austria and passed the medical examinations in preparation for joining the training sessions.
The newspaper clarified that no information is available yet regarding Cancelo and the reason for his failure to join Al-Hilal's camp, which played a friendly match against MC Alger yesterday, Wednesday, and lost 2-0.
Al-Hilal and Barcelona are now negotiating Joao Cancelo's transfer to Camp Nou, as the Blaugrana offered the Saudi club 10 million euros to sign the right-back, but the deal stalled due to tax issues, while Cancelo wants to continue with the Catalan club.
Barcelona coach Hans Flick expressed his desire to sign Cancelo permanently from Al-Hilal, while the Saudi club is looking to sign a player who can play in both right-back and left-back positions to replace the Portuguese international if he leaves.
