According to reports by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Pickford, 32, was driving his Lamborghini Urus, valued at approximately £200,000, in Knutsford, Cheshire, on April 14.

Case documents indicated that the goalkeeper ignored a "Give Way" sign at a junction, forcing two cars to brake hard to avoid a collision before Pickford sped away.

Cheshire Police officer Cecil Ricardo stated in his testimony that he was stopped at Beeton Street waiting for a traffic light when he saw a blue Lamborghini Urus driven by Pickford.

He explained: "The vehicle reached the Toft Street junction, completely disregarded the give-way markings, and entered Toft Street, causing two cars to brake to avoid a collision."

He added: "Afterwards, the Lamborghini accelerated rapidly down Toft Street."

The officer noted that he activated his police car's lights and sirens and began pursuing Pickford, stating that he was driving at 50 mph (approximately 80 km/h) while the goalkeeper's car pulled away from him, despite the speed limit on that section of road being 30 mph (approximately 48 km/h).

According to the statement, Pickford noticed the pursuing police car and stopped his vehicle.

The Everton goalkeeper pleaded guilty in writing at Warrington Magistrates' Court but requested to appear in person to present his defense before the case was formally adjourned.

Pickford is scheduled to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on December 7.

Pickford has made 336 appearances for Everton and earned 92 caps for England, having participated in the 2018, 2022, and 2026 World Cups, and served as England's goalkeeper in the UEFA Euro 2020 and 2024 finals.
