Barcelona signs Mallorca defender for the future

Via FilGoal

Barcelona announced that it has reached an agreement with Real Mallorca to include the young defender Javi Castro in the ranks of Barcelona Athletic, to strengthen the defensive line of the reserve team in the coming period.

Barcelona

Castro, who is 19 years old "born in 2007", signed a contract with the Catalan club that extends until June 30, 2028, and will be part of Barcelona Athletic for the next two seasons.

The young defender was on loan last season to the youth team of CF Damm in the División de Honor league, where he continued his remarkable development and succeeded in establishing himself as one of the distinguished defensive elements, thanks to his solidity, good positioning, and ability to compete at the highest levels.

The deal comes as part of Barcelona's plan to strengthen the reserve ranks with promising young elements, as the club's management sees Castro as a future defender project capable of adding strength and competitiveness to the defensive line, under the leadership of coach Juliano Belletti.

Barcelona Athletic continues its preparations for the new season, with a clear focus on developing young talents and giving them the opportunity to advance within the club's football system.
