Spanish media reports indicated that Barcelona turned down an opportunity to sign an exciting attacking target during the summer transfer window after securing Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona did not have sufficient time to evaluate the possibility of signing Newcastle United striker Nick Voltemada before he joined Juventus.
Barcelona decided to finalize the signing of Gabriel Jesus at the time when the German striker was offered to Blaugrana, before he preferred joining the Italian league over other options.

Voltemada's transfer move did not materialize into an actual deal for Barcelona. The German had joined Newcastle from Stuttgart for €75 million.

Voltemada was linked with moves to Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund before Juventus reached an agreement to sign the German on loan until June 30, 2027.
