Zamalek Club managed to score its first goal of the new season in the opening minutes of the second half during its match against National Bank of Egypt, part of the Egyptian Premier League competitions.
Zamalek Club faces National Bank of Egypt team this Wednesday evening at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the second round matches of the Egyptian Premier League.
After the first half ended in a goalless draw, Zamalek's head coach Moataz Gamal made a substitution by bringing on Chico Banza in place of Ahmed Sherif to strengthen the team's attacking power.
Zamalek launched a quick attack in the 51st minute, culminating in a precise cross by the Palestinian player Oday Dabbagh, which Angolan Chico Banza met with a shot heading toward the goal; although a National Bank of Egypt defender attempted to clear it, he inadvertently directed it into his own net.
This marks Zamalek's first goal of the new season, after failing to score in their opening match against Al-Ittihad Alexandria, which also ended in a goalless draw.
National Bank of Egypt had begun their new season campaign with a defeat against Abu Qir Fertilizers by a single goal without reply, and will face Petrojet Assiut in the upcoming round.
