Ayman El-Sherei, chairman of ENPPI Club, confirmed that his club cost Al-Ahly the Egyptian Premier League title last season.
El-Sherei stated in remarks to MBC Masr channel: "ENPPI cost Al-Ahly the league title last season, and this is a fact that actually happened."

He added: "The crisis between Amr Gamal (Omuta) and Ali Mahmoud; the latter is one of the disciplined players, and it is unbecoming for him to make a mistake, whether at ENPPI or at Al-Ahly. Sometimes the head coach is under pressure and needs support from the players."
He continued: "Regarding the sales of Ali Mahmoud and Aqtay, we are strategic partners with Al-Ahly. The agreement between us stipulates a partnership with Al-Ahly Club under certain conditions. We concluded two deals involving Ali Mahmoud and Aqtay, and our partnership is ongoing whether Ali Mahmoud stays or transfers to another club. This partnership yields positive benefits."
El-Sherei also responded to Ahmed Suleiman, a member of Zamalek's board of directors, saying: "The transfer deal of Ziad Kamal from ENPPI to Zamalek was not a partnership, and you were the one who drafted the contract with me."
