Media reports today revealed the latest developments regarding the future of Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez and the possibility of his departure from the Rojiblancos in the coming period, amid news that Arsenal has expressed interest in signing the Argentine international in recent hours.
The relationship between Álvarez and Atlético Madrid is at its lowest ebb, with the player eager to leave the Rojiblancos, while the Spanish club does not want to sell the 26-year-old to Barcelona.
Álvarez’s position is extremely difficult, as Atlético Madrid fans booed the player during the team’s match against Villarreal in the Spanish league on Sunday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The tension extended beyond the final whistle, as Álvarez refused to acknowledge the Atlético Madrid fans at the Wanda Metropolitano and immediately left the pitch.
The newspaper 'Sport', citing 'The Athletic', reported that Atlético Madrid would seriously consider selling Álvarez if an offer worth 150 million euros arrived from Arsenal, while the Gunners have begun efforts to convince the player to return to the Premier League, contrary to the Argentine international’s wishes, as he wants to move to Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid’s stubbornness in refusing to sell Álvarez to Barcelona is a key factor in potentially changing the player’s mind about moving to Arsenal.
Sport added that Atlético Madrid would need to sign a proper striker if Álvarez leaves, and manager Diego Simeone publicly stated after the draw with Villarreal that his team needs a striker.
It was clarified that Viktor Gyökeres, an Arsenal player, could be an option for Atlético Madrid, as the English club is considering including the Swedish international in the deal to sign Álvarez, alongside other options such as Fernández Bardou, a Lille player, and Nicolo Tresoldi, a Club Brugge player, who is also of interest to Barcelona.
Sport also reported that Chelsea player Nicolas Jackson has been strongly proposed to Atlético Madrid and is considered a good option, while the player wants to leave the Blues and is not part of manager Xabi Alonso’s plans.
Atlético Madrid is competing with Aston Villa to sign Jackson, while Chelsea wants to sell the player permanently, amid anticipation regarding Álvarez’s future and his situation with the team.
