Atlético Madrid player after fans' behavior: We will fight for Álvarez

Via Btolat

One of Atlético Madrid's players was keen on offering full support to his teammate, star Julian Álvarez, amid the difficult period he is currently experiencing due to widespread speculation about his future.

It is well known that Julian Álvarez is looking to leave Atlético Madrid and join FC Barcelona in the current summer transfer window, a move that Atlético firmly rejects.

Although Álvarez publicly expressed his desire to leave Atlético Madrid, the club remains stubborn on this matter, especially since it does not want him to depart for a direct rival like Barcelona.

Álvarez was on Atlético Madrid's bench during yesterday's match against Villarreal in the second round of La Liga, where he faced intense booing from the fans.

Álvarez played as a substitute in yesterday's match, did not touch the ball, and left the field saddened after the game, while the attending fans intensified their attacks by throwing objects at him.

For his part, Giuliano Simeone stated in remarks published by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo": "Our strength has always lain in our unity; this is what distinguishes Atlético Madrid and makes us different from others."

He added: "Álvarez is our player, so we will do everything possible for him on the pitch. We will fight together; he is our player, and we will always support him."

He continued: "We must all unite and strive toward one goal; otherwise, we will face division, which is not in our best interest."
