Atlético Madrid continues to maintain its firm stance against the team's star Julián Álvarez, as he seeks to leave Atlético during the current summer transfer window and join Barcelona.

Julián Álvarez wishes to depart from Atlético Madrid and move to Barcelona this summer. The Catalan club submitted an offer to finalize the deal, which was met with mockery and ridicule by Atlético.

Álvarez publicly expressed his desire to leave Atlético Madrid, but the club's management has held firm in its position against the Argentine player.

Miguel Ángel Gil, CEO of Atlético Madrid, stated in remarks published by the Spanish newspaper "AS": "Like other great clubs, we rely on great players; Julián is one of them. He is a top-class professional. We must compete based on our values, alongside local talents and the best players coming from abroad."

He added, "We will support Julián Álvarez, and we will continue nurturing him until he delivers his full potential for us, because we need him to keep competing among Europe's giants."

He further stated, "We must recognize that Álvarez has not had the best advisors during recent months of his career. We cannot allow other clubs and their affiliated media outlets to dictate what we should do, influence our sporting policies, or undermine us."

He continued, "This is precisely what they are trying to do: sow division among us. We are not their mouthpiece; this is clear. However, we adhere to our values and will not let them influence us. Atlético Madrid is strong when united."
